List of incidents and outstanding events regarding the Croatian Contingent in the ISAf mission
- 24th of May 2003 - motorized MP patrol encountered the group of protesters that started to throw rocks on them. Two MP members were easily injured, and there was small material damage on the vehicle.
- 18th of August 2003 – a traffic accident occurred between MP vehicle Land Rover and local bus. Both members of patrol were injured (one heavily and the other easily)
- 2nd of February 2005 – a civil motor vehicle did not stopped on the check point and tried to overrun a member of the MP that saved himself by jumping aside and opened fire and injured the driver of the civil motor vehicle.
- 18th of November 2005 – when trying to avoid the vehicle from the opposite side, MP motor vehicle run out of the road and two MP members were easily injured.
- 20th of June 2006 - at 01.19 hours local time, CRO MLOT team was attacked during operation "Turtle" in Taywara district. Members of Croatian MLOT fired back, after which attackers drove away by motorcycles. There were no injured members of the Croatian Armed Forces during the attack, only material damage on two vehicles.
- 12th of September 2006 – during the routine patrol of OMLT members with ANA units they spot armed men. During the check the fire was opened on the OMLT and ANA members. ANA returned the fire. There were no injured members of OMLT or ANA. Only one OMLT Puch terrain vehicle was damaged.
- 24th of November 2006 - during performing his regular patrol duty in Kandahar area, Corporal G.S., a member of the 8th Croatian contingent, was easily wounded. G.S. was wounded from splinter from rocket-propelled grenade (RPG-7) in the back. After the medical intervention, G.S. was feeling well and returned back to camp in the Kandahar Airport.
- 19th of May 2007- at 11.40 hours local time (9.10 hours Croatian time), an improvised explosive device exploded in the northern Afghanistan (Kunduz Province). During regular patrol of Afghanistan National Army (ANA) and Croatian Operational Mentor and Liaison Team (OMLT) an explosion of improvised explosive device occurred near the road. Nobody from six Croatian OMLT or ANA was killed or injured, and there were no material damage as well.
- 6th of July 2007 - at 12.00 hrs local time (09.30 hrs Croatian time), members of the 9th Croatian contingent were attacked in Kunduz province on the north of Afghanistan. The attack was made on the members of Operational Mentoring and Liaison Team who were in the two LMV Iveco vehicles with the antitank mine which was hidden with bricks left near the road. Total 4 OMLT members were in vehicles. At the time of attack, OMLT was patrolling between Pol-e-Khomri and Kunduz, 6 km north from Pol-e-Khomri.
- 2nd of August 2007 - at 22,53 hours local time (20,23 hours Croatian time), members of the Croatian Contingent in the ISAF mission were attacked in the area of Regional Command West, Dahane, Chahar Saden District. The attack was done by the RPG-7 rocket launcher on the police station where the members of the two Mobile Liaison Operational Teams (MLOT) (14 members in total) were staying for the night when performing the duty of patrolling in the area. Nobody was injured during the attack, and there was no material damage.
- 28th of September 2007 – between 23.00 and 23.40 (02.30 and 03.10 Croatian time) four explosions were heard in the vicinity of multinational camp in Changhcharan, Ghor Province, on the area of the Regional Command West. Nobody was injured and there were no material damage. Investigation is in process, and the assumption is that the attack was made with rockets.
- 26th of October 2007 - at 04.10 hours local time (01.40 Croatian time), and in 05.10 hours local time (02.40 Croatian time), two explosions were heard in the vicinity of Warehouse multinational camp in Kabul. It is assumed that the attack was made with rockets. During the attack there were no injured. All members of Croatian contingent stationed in the Warehouse Camp are well and continue with their regular duties.
- 17th of January 2008 - at 18.30 hours local time, during the return from the regular patrol, the Hummer vehicle slipped from the little bridge because of the icy road right before the entrance to the Marmal Camp in Mazar-e-Sharif in the Northern Afghanistan, and fell into the canal and turned over on the side.
Three CAF members were in the vehicle, out of which one got fracture of the bone below the shoulder.
The injured soldier got a splint in the German hospital. The other two soldiers were easily wounded. The vehicle got damaged on the mudguard and one door.
